Code of conduct
What we expect of everyone at the meeting.
This code of conduct is draft and has not yet been approved by the organising committee.
Cell Wall 2027 is a professional scientific meeting. Everyone attending — delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, committee members and staff — is expected to help make it a place where people can present their work and disagree about the science without anyone being made uncomfortable.
What we expect
- Treat everyone with respect, regardless of career stage, background, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or appearance.
- Criticise ideas, not people. Robust scientific disagreement is welcome; personal remarks are not.
- Ask before photographing or sharing someone’s unpublished data, poster or slides. If a presenter asks that their work not be shared, respect that.
- Be mindful that many delegates are students presenting for the first time.
What is not acceptable
Harassment in any form, including unwanted attention, intimidation, deliberate disruption of talks, offensive comments, and inappropriate physical contact. Alcohol is not an excuse.
If something happens
Speak to any member of the organising committee, in person or by email at info@cellwall2027.org. Reports will be handled discreetly.
Named contact people and reporting process to be confirmed
The committee may take any action it considers appropriate, including removing someone from the meeting without a refund.
