Cell Wall 2027 Brisbane, 5-9 July 2027

Why Brisbane

A compact, walkable, subtropical city at the start of the Australian winter.

Brisbane sits on a bend of the Brisbane River in subtropical Queensland. July is the middle of the Australian winter, which here means dry, clear days around 21°C and cool evenings around 10°C. It is comfortably the best month of the year to be outdoors in this city.

The meeting is in the centre of town. Hotels, restaurants, the river and the botanic gardens are all within walking distance of Customs House, and the city is small enough that you will not spend your week in taxis.

Getting to Australia

Brisbane Airport has direct connections across Asia, the Pacific, North America and the Middle East, and frequent domestic flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The airport is about 20 minutes from the city by train.

Visas

Most visitors to Australia need a visa or an electronic travel authority arranged before travelling. Requirements depend on your passport, and some applications take considerable time, so start early.

Combining the trip

Many delegates travelling this far choose to see more of the country. The Great Barrier Reef, the Queensland rainforests and the beaches of the Sunshine and Gold Coasts are all within a short flight or drive of Brisbane.
